Sodium chlorite is an inorganic sodium salt, taken from a naturally occurring mineral in which chlorite is the counter-ion. It has a role as an oxidizing agent and is also used for the disinfection of water to neutralize poisons.

Uses
- Acidified Sodium chlorite is used for the purification of drinking water.
- Add drops to pets drinking water.
- Eliminates the body of disease-causing micro-organisms.
- Use as a sanitizer, disinfectant, and surface cleaner.
How to mix
Sodium chlorite must be activated with an acid to make a Chlorine dioxide gas (MMS1) and is of acidic pH. Wait 30 seconds for the activation to take place.
Precaution
- This product is diluted to 22,4% and is not as dangerous and toxic as the 80% strength.
- When spilled on the skin or in the eyes, rinse with plenty of water for several minutes.
- If digested, rinse your mouth with water and induce vomiting.
- Store below 25°C in a cool dark place.
- Product may show floating salt particles if in storage for a long period.
- Not suitable for persons on birth control pills as it cancels out the effectiveness of the pill.
- Mix in a ventilated area and do not inhale the gas.
- Acidified sodium chlorite was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2004, as an anti-microbial agent which is non-toxic, but not as a drug.
